Petra Mountain Retreat and Conference Centre is a Christian resort nestled on the ridge of Legogote Mountain in the scenic Lowveld, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding flora and fauna.
Petra Mountain is conveniently situated a mere 15 minutes drive from the Kruger National Park, 30 minutes from Nelspruit, 10 minutes from White River, and 20 minutes from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. This is not only an ideal bed and breakfast as a stopover on the way to the Kruger National Park, but it's also a great venue for conferences, retreats, confirmation weekends, marriage guidance workshops, Alpha Courses, and more.
The double en-suite bedrooms contain two very comfortable beds, two desk/dressing tables with good lights, and two chairs. There is ample cupboard space, as well as a kettle and tea and coffee tray. A continental breakfast is served in the dining room or on the verandah. All the bedrooms are non-smoking rooms.
The gardens of Petra are a peaceful retreat for the weary traveller. The mountain offers spectacular views over the Lowveld and indigenous bush, and guests are welcome to explore or just relax in the serene environment. On a clear day, drink in the majestic atmosphere from the Prayer Rock which juts out of the mountain and offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. On a cool day, snuggle up with a good book and a hot drink in front of the huge fireplace in the lounge.
There are also several venues to choose from for the perfect function. The thatched Lapa is set separately but near to the hotel, and is an ideal location for conferencing and training, where concentration is enhanced by the lack of distraction. The Lapa has a data projector, white board, flip chart, and Wi-fi.
The dining room comfortably seats up to 50 guests and is an excellent option for conferences and training courses, as well as for the more lavish banquet type of evening. The outside verandah offers al fresco dining with a view, and guests can also have a relaxing cup of tea or coffee in the comfortably furnished lounge with large stone surround fireplace. Telephone, fax, and email facilities are available at reception.

Great Outdoors: A wonderful setting on the shoulder of Legogote Mountain. Climb to the top visiting bushman paintings on the way or just soak in the wonderful views.This is a wonderful base for a holiday for sightseeing, and extreme or not-so-extreme sports.
Wedding Venues: What a setting for a wedding. There are many venues you can choose from. Get married in a thatched "chapel", on "Prayer Rock" or under the open sky with views over the escarpment.
Conference venue: An efficient, comfortable, accommodating and affordable venue for conferences, trainings, workshops etc. You can be assured that all delegates and trainees are made to feel welcome and looked after.
Disabled Friendly: We have wheelchair access for all areas other than the bedrooms which have one flight of stairs to reach them. 13 of the bedrooms have showers and one has a bath.
Outstanding Views: We are perched on the shoulder of Legogote Mountain and surrounded by spectacular views of the natural indigenous bush and forests as well as amazing rocks and mountains.
