Peter's Place

Peter's Place is situated nearby the small village of Kammieskroon. We used this place for an overnight stay on our way to Namibia, and I was a kind of surprised. There is no light in the night time, just a generator that brings some electricity in the evening. The place is very rustic. But Peter managed it to make us feeling like home. We had a wonderful home made dinner together with his friends and long nice chat at the fireplace. Actually unforgettable! If you like plane fair and a rustic atmosphere for a change, you will enjoy your time at Peters Farm.

We were welcomed warmly to Peter's Place and were shown to the gorgeous Stone Cottage overlooking the farm dam. On the dam was a spoonbill nest with mama overseeing the eggs. We were delighted! The cottage is comfortably rustic. Bedding good, but matresses a little saggy. Meals were excellent. We will be back.

Complete escape - relaxed and a 'different' experience. To be recommended!

Although only given 2 stars it was a memorable stay but not sure everyone will enjoy it.

Room was very basic and there was no ensuite bathroom as advertised. No modern light switches - you had to find a dangling cord in the dark. Carpet needed vacuuming. However the bed was nice, clean and comfortable. Has a very rustic communal dining area, which was great for meeting the other guests and hear about their travels. Dinners were tasty but some of the breakfasts need improvement - would have preferred cereal instead of the mincemeat on toast that I couldn't bring myself to each much of. Some of the best wildflowers I saw were on this property, and the huge granite dome overlooking the farm was worth exploring. Great value for the price, but I personally would prefer something more clean and modern.
