The island of Bazaruto is undoubtedly a beautiful and unexplored destination, characterised by its wildlife, turquoise waters and idyllic beaches, all carefully protected as a Natural Reserve.

The Pestana Bazaruto Lodge hotel is situated in a bay on the north side of the island. This setting offers a unique combination of beauty, security and relaxation that makes it the perfect spot for lovers and nature lovers, as well as divers and sea sports enthusiasts, especially fishing. Bazaruto Island is the perfect paradise to forget the daily stresses of city life.

Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is a magical place! Just renovated, there are 26 thatched roofs 'A' frame Chalets stretched along a beautiful beach and sited amongst luxuriant tropical gardens.

A blend of bright colours with African-style decoration gives you the perfect tropical island atmosphere. This Lodge with a special charm is the perfect antidote to stress.

RESTAURANTS AND BARS

FLAMINGO Restaurant:
This is the only restaurant at the Lodge and dinner is announced every night by the sound of African drums. It is situated in the main building and has a capacity for approximately 80 persons.

Mozambican and International food is served both À La Carte and as a Buffet. Our specialities are fish, seafood dishes and grills.

It is open daily for breakfast from 7h00 to 10h30, for lunch from 13h00 to 15h00 and for dinner 19h30 to 22h00.

Kiddies menu available and meals can be arranged before normal times

SUNSET Bar:
Open daily from 07:00 to 01:00, offering coffee, tea, international drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals.

Please note that at Pestana Bazaruto Lodge full board is compulsory all year round.

CONVENTION CENTRE

Now you really can combine business and pleasure! Comprising 54 square metres and with a capacity up to 25 delegates, Pestana’s Bazaruto Lodge meeting room will offer the perfect set up for your business getaway.

The conference area comprises approximately 54 square metres and has a capacity for up to 25 persons.

The impressive beauty of the coral reefs complements this subtropical ecosystem, enriched by the abundance and rare beauty of the tropical fish. The archipelago is deservedly known as the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean'.

Pestana Bazaruto Lodge has just been completely renovated!

Pestana Bazaruto Lodge Hotel is situated in the largest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago, approximately 600 km to the north of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The island is 35 Km in length and 7 km across at the widest point, and is a little piece of paradise!

There are five weekly flights from Maputo to Vilanculos, one daily from Johannesburg to Vilanculos and bi weekly flights from Nelspruit and Harare to Vilanculos. From there, daily transfers to Bazaruto Island are available and coincide with most of the flights arriving from Maputo and South Africa. This transfer is done by a small 9-seater plane and the flight lasts approximately 20 minutes. This is a memorable trip

It is possible to accommodate private charters and planes.

NB: The Pestana Bazaruto Lodge swimming pool is currently under construction, anticipated to be complete by the end of June'08.
Disruption should be minimal but in the meantime, lodge guests can make use of our complimentary shuttle service to Dolphin Bay Beach.
