Description

Set on the edge of a lake, Papyrus Lodge offers five charming wooden chalets built on stilts, each with a wooden deck over the water. The attractive gabled main lodge houses four spacious and tastefully furnished suites each with a fully equipped kitchenette and shaded verandah.

Wake up to a mouth-watering selection of home-made breads, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold meats, or hot breakfast foods served on the garden terrace with the sound of gently waving palm trees, or in the sunny breakfast room overlooking the lake.

Enjoy swimming, fishing, birdwatching, rowing, or simply relax at the waters edge. The lodge has easy access to nearby golf courses and beaches, and is within sight of Table Mountain. We are located just a 30-minute drive from Cape Town and 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, yet far from the pressures of city life.

Great Outdoors: Situated on 14 hectares of private land with park-like gardens, a fresh water lake to swim or fish, pedal boats, rowing boats and stunning views over the vineyards towards the mountains.

Honeymoon Romance: Peaceful and private, stylish and romantic chalets with access over a private little bridge and a large deck overlooking the water. Honeymooners are treated with a bottle of sparkling wine, fruit basket, flowers and candles.

Outstanding Views: Stunning sunsets over the lake towards Table Mountain on the one side, overlooking vineyards towards the Helderberg Mountains on the other side.

Stunning suites located in the main lodge, each with a private entrance and a covered garden terrace. The suites comprise two rooms, a spacious lounge with kitchenette and a bathroom with a separate toilet. These family suites are available for a maximum of two adults and two children sharing. The lodge is set in a park-like garden, just metres away from the lake. The spacious garden terraces offer awesome views over the lake, gardens and vineyards towards the Helderberg or the Table Mountain.

Our stay at Papyrus was lovely.

The rooms were great, large, and very clean. It was peaceful and the breakfast was very good. The location was ideal; Right in the center of the wine region and perfect for roaming around and tasting.
