Papaya Garden

Papaya Garden is situated in the exquisite Diani Beach in Kenya, making it the ideal location for anyone looking for a relaxing, sunshine-filled beach holiday in a lush location, far away from overcrowded hotels. It is just 10 minutes away from quiet and secluded white sand beaches. Papaya Garden is the ideal indulgent getaway for families, couples and singles alike.

Our cottages offer amenities and are near local attractions so visitors can choose their vacation experience, whether it be relaxing or invigorating. If you are looking for an affordable and relaxing holiday that is not the normal run-of-the-mill experience, then Papaya Garden is for you.

Our villa compound is a tropical paradise. The entire acre plot is surrounded by a bougainvillea-covered wall, and the garden is carefully looked after. You will find a dazzling display of beautiful, fragrant exotic flowers, bananas, papayas and passion fruits which visitors are free to sample straight from the trees. At the centre of the compound is a salt water swimming pool. We warmly welcome families with children and for your peace of mind, you will stay in a villa with a fenced swimming pool.

Accommodation is offered in two fully furnished villas, named Dora and Holly. Both are built with coral stone in the local Swahili style and have palm thatched roofs. Each villa can sleep up to six people comfortably, and both of the villas comprise an upper and lower level.

On the lower level are two bedrooms with king-size beds; one of the bedrooms also has an en-suite bathroom. The upper floor also features a bedroom with a king-size bed and baby cot. All of the beds have mosquito nets and all rooms feature a veranda and ceiling fans. All of the bathrooms contain walk-in showers, making them fully wheelchair accessible.

Each fully equipped kitchen features a gas cooker, oven, fridge-freezer, coffee-maker, toaster and a microwave. Sufficient kitchen utensils are available and a chef can also be arranged at a reasonable rate. Our cook will be happy to cook sumptuous meals and can also take care of your daily shopping.

In addition, we can organize excursions to Shimba Hills, Shimoni Caves, Wasini Island mangroves and the Kisite - Mpunguti National Park. While the Papaya Garden staff officially work from 8 to 5 pm, assistance can be arranged for those that require something extra. This is because our staff, a housekeeper, pool attendant and gardener remain on site in separate lodgings, 24 hours a day. This way they are available to assist you with anything you need during your stay.
