Surrounded by Knysna's indigenous forest and the Knysna National Park, wildlife is all around you. If you are really lucky, you may see the elusive leopard or rooi cat moving through the landscape. Enjoy an abundance of bird life and the piercing cry of the fish eagle, the blue crane and Knysna's famous loerie.

Packwood uses produce from the estate which include the jersey cow herd's rich and creamy milk, extra mature cheddar cheese, a perfect marriage with Packwood's maiden vintage Sauvignon Blanc 2009, coupled with home-made crusty bread and a crisp garden salad. This is just a little taste of our wholesome country cuisine. The captivating feeling of Packwood had Peter and Vicky bowled over, recognising the huge potential to convert the property into what it is today: a prime piece of real estate with a beautiful farm and unparalleled views, only 20 km from Plettenberg Bay and 25 km from Knysna. Our rich and creamy milk provides the perfect ingredient for Packwood's extra mature cheddar which is always available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In 2006 Packwood realised the potential for planting vines on the estate and hence Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc plantings commenced.
