Ou Kliphuis

Originally built in 1927, the Ou Kliphuis has been beautifully renovated and is situated on Main Street in Clarens, just a five-minute walk from town. Ou Kliphuis offers guests a choice of staying in the self-catering main house or in the self-catering flat adjacent to the house.

The first bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has access to the main patio, while the second bedroom is furnished with two three-quarter beds. On request a second bunk bed can be placed in the second bedroom. The bathroom is shared between the two rooms and consists of a salvaged iron-cast bath.

The kitchen is equipped with a two-plate gas hob, a convection microwave and a dishwasher, as well as a washing machine. The lovely cast-iron stove warms the house up in winter and creates a cosy atmosphere. The lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas and guests can enjoy their meals at the six-seater dining table. The living area also has a fireplace for those cold days.

The open-plan flat is attached to the main house but has a private entrance. The room is furnished with a queen-size bed and the en-suite bathroom consists of a shower only. The kitchen is equipped with a convection microwave, a mini fridge and an electric frying pan.

Parking for a maximum of four cars is provided in front of the house. Ou Kliphuis has a lovely garden where guests can relax. For the golfers, there is an 18-hole course while hikers will enjoy a walk in the Golden Gate National Park or in the Sterkfontein Dam Reserve. Guests can also visit the Basotho Cultural Village.
