We only stayed over for one night. It was cold and the room was draughty - we would have appreciated an extra blanket. I don't recall the website saying that we should bring extra blankets, because I would have remembered something like that. I think this would be a fantastic place for a larger group - just bring a blankie if you're going to visit during the colder months. :-) Response from Establishment - More blankets made available

Wow. I have stayed in many "backpackers" in my life, and I can honestly rate this as the best, 5 stars. For the cost of our stay, I was completely blown away by the luxury and service. Soft towels on soft beds, and the communal kitchen and dining area was so luxurious. We felt welcome from the second we arrived, the breakfast spreads were amazing, there was Ice in the fridge when we arrived, and everything was just amazing. Otter’s Bend Lodge, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, is a unique backpackers’, hikers’ and travelers’ lodge offering a self-catering or bed and breakfast base from which to explore the Western Cape Winelands and Franschhoek. It also makes an ideal getaway for city dwellers and overnight stop for wedding guests.

Otter’s Bend Lodge is situated on a farm, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, surrounded by wine and fruit farms. A foot track leads you off Dassenberg Road through pear orchard down to the Franschhoek River.
