Otter's Bend Lodge

Otter’s Bend Lodge, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, is a unique backpackers, hikers, and travelers lodge offering a self-catering or bed and breakfast base from which to explore the Western Cape Winelands and Franschhoek.

It also makes an ideal getaway for city dwellers and overnight stop for wedding guests. Otter’s Bend Lodge is situated on a farm, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley surrounded by wine and fruit farms. A foot track leads off Dassenberg Road through pear orchards down to the Franschhoek River.

The adjoining log cabin rooms and communal living area will quickly absorb you into this gem of a spot where the whispering of the wind in the trees and the rush of the river, as it makes its way round the bend, tend to command a peaceful silence that is appreciated by all the Otter’s visitors.

Twin and double en-suite, log cabin sytle rooms lead out onto a deck situated amongst trees. There is a communal self-catering lounge/dining/kitchen area with large open fire, wood burning stove, and fully equipped kitchen. A dip pool overlooking the river offers the perfect spot to cool off in summer.

Otter's Bend is within easy walking distance of the village, several renowned wine estates, and famous restaurants. Horse riding, hiking, trout fishing, mountain biking, paragliding, wine tours, historical sites, and boutique cellars are on the doorstep.
