We stayed for one day at the Orange River Tented Camp, Saturday 29 Aug. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and .
What a relief not to worry about baboons, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the kitchen was outside.
To fall asleep with the sound of the rushing rapids of the fast flowing river was wonderful.
The beauty and tranquility of the Camp is a great get-a-way from the rat-race of every day life.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Orange River Tented Camp
We were welcomed by the owner, Ivan Sinclair, and made to feel very welcome after we arrived.
It was a wonderful experience. My two sons, 16 and 15, enjoyed the rowing to no end. Life jackets were provided and there were ample boats to pick from.
Although it was winter, electric blankets made it quite bearable during the night.
We stayed in campsites 1 and 5.
Unfortunately tent 5 had no fridge but we used the one in tent 1. The lapa was fantastic to prepare food and to relax. Ample ... more

The Orange River Tented Camp is situated only 1 km below the Gariepdam and 10 km from the N1 highway. It is ideally situated between Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.The tenthouses are built on wooden decks with en-suite bathrooms and are equipped with all the modern necessities like electricity, electrical blankets for the cooler nights fridge,kettle and hot showers .For family reunions or team-building there is a big Lapa available with an impressive wooden deck that is overlooking the majestic river. Here you can enjoy funfilled nights around the fire in our Lapa or boma next door. Traditional Karoo cuisine are being served in the months of December and January . A self-catering unit is next to each tent with braai facilities, gas plate and cutlery. Braai packs that includes Karoo lamb is available for the self caterers.Oranje River Camp offers for the discerned nature lover a variety of activities that includes accommodation,team building, fly fishing, canoe safaris, horse riding, hunting, bird watching and hiking.
