Old Joe's Kaia was brilliant, we enjoyd everything about it from our room, to the amazing gardens and the wonderful dinner. Will definitely be going there again.
Old Joe's Kaia is a lovely place to stop off on the way back from the Kruger and a break in the journey, it is peaceful, beautiful gardens, with lots of different trees and plants. Paul was a great host and we were welcomed by Melissa and chatted. Really tranquil and a great way to end our holiday before getting back to the Gauteng madness. We would like to walk to the Crocodile River. Sometime and learn about the birds.
This was our second visit to old Joe's Kaia, and it was even better than the first time. The whole venue lends itself to tranquility and allows for the weary soal to become quiet. The food is meticulously prepared by a very hands-on Marian and is out of this world. This is complimented by a very carefully selected winelist that featured wines from the smaller and lesser known cellars. Finally, you will not find better hosts than Marian and Paul. I would highly recommed this for anyone needing quit time and who loves good food and wine.
Accommodation in the log cabin was comfortable and convenient - with a great view into the surrounding bush (and birdlife)Marian and team's cooking was superb, unusual taste combination, great presentation and delicious! Also great to see an less familiar selection of superb wines at a sort of reasonable restaurant price
Great food. Will stay next time and not just overnight.
