Occi Lodge

Occi Lodge offers upmarket self-catering accommodation in the centre of town in Sodwana Bay, known for its deep-sea diving and beautiful coral reefs. Accommodation is provided in four cabins and four en-suite rooms, each equipped with a fan and Wi-Fi access.

Four of the comfortable cabins are furnished with bunk beds, while the fourth has a double bed. Each cabin features a dedicated bathroom with a shower only, and guests need to bring their own towels. The spacious en-suite rooms are furnished with double beds and are perfect for those who want more privacy and comfort. The en-suite bathrooms consist of a shower only.

All guests also have access to the communal kitchen equipped with microwaves, fridge-freezers and two-plate stoves. Ample barbecue facilities are provided and gas cookers are also available. The lodge also has a communal lounge and bar, as well as a cafe area, but no beverages are sold on the property. These can be bought at the bottle store or Spar, which is a two-minute walk from the lodge. The lounge is equipped with comfortable couches and a TV with DStv, as well as an i-Pod docking station. Guests are welcome to make use of the splash pool, but please note that it is not fenced or netted and children have to be supervised at all times.

Various activities such as fishing, boating, bird watching and hiking can be enjoyed, making this a destination ideal for the whole family. Divers can expect to see an abundance of tropical fish, moray eels, coral, sponges and, at certain times of the year, whales, whale sharks and dolphins. In summer, loggerhead and leatherback turtles lay their eggs on the beaches and Sodwana is also within easy driving distance of a number of game reserves, including the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park.
