Nyala River Lodge & staff
This was a particularly memorable part of our 6-week vacation in S.A. & Namibia - certainly the best by far for game viewing. Apart from almost rear-ending a very-surprised rhino on the way to searching for a leopard, we rewarded by a wonderfully clear sighting of the leopard. The staff were excellent and VERY accommodating - we can't praise them highly enough.
In short, it lived up to its claims.

Description
Nyala Safari Lodge is situated in the Mohlabetsi Conservancy in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The lodge offers self-catering accommodation, including two game drives or a game drive and guided bush walk per day with an accredited and fully qualified ranger. The lodge is on the banks of the Mohlabetsi River (meaning "sweet waters"). The five large thatched rondavels accommodating single groups from two to 14 guests in total. The rondavels at Nyala Safari Lodge are graciously decorated, each comprising an en-suite bathroom. A modern central kitchen - that is fully equipped - and an indoor dining area for the self-catering enthusiasts. A small swimming pool surrounded by green lawn and shady trees.
The-fully serviced self catering lodge provides an extraordinary adventure for nature lovers, where a tastefully decorated lounge area outside - under the thatch - overlooks the seasonal river bed and water-hole. An elevated wooden deck provides restful game viewing in the shade of the large Weeping Boer-Bean overlooking the river bed and water-hole. Dining takes place in the “Boma” where the peaceful outdoors assist in relaxing the soul. With self-catering as an option, meals may be prepared in the kitchen or over the fire in the “Boma”. The experience of Nyala will be etched in your memory forever.
Nyala Lodge is equipped with five luxury thatched rondavels each beautifully appointed with ethnic furnishings, draped in romantic fabrics that bring about an atmosphere that is truly African. The beds are covered in subtle Percale cotton sheeting and finished with ultra luxurious duvets, giving guests luxurious comfort. Overhead fans whisper gently to keep the pure African air circulating evenly in the room. Generous bath sheets are provided in the en-suite bathrooms. Nyala Safari Lodge in the Mohlabetsi Conservancy is a place where time stops and life begins. Located on the western boundary of the Klaserie Game Reserve, the reserve has two non-perennial rivers meandering through the area and draws a diversity of wildlife and birds. White Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Cheetah, and other African animals can be discovered on open safari vehicles. The reserve is situated in one of Africa's most treasured and prolific wildlife regions. It is located on the western boundary of the Kruger National Park. Mohlabetsi offers you an encounter with the African Bushveld in your own way and in your own time. The riverine habitat, open grasslands, mixed woodland and many vantage points and game hides ensure the opportunity of seeing a diversity of bird and wildlife. Guides will plan game activities/drives according to guests' requirements.
Our rangers are accredited and fully-qualified and thus ensure that the guests receive excellent, informative, as well as highly entertaining game drives. All aspects of the Fauna and Flora found in the Reserve are covered in great detail to complete the Safari Experience. Our attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed as guests always leave with the memory of an unforgettable experience. Conservation and the environment top our priority list and we are always trying our utmost to stimulate and educate our guests in this regard.
