Facilities

The farm Namibgrens runs in the Rabie family since 1940. The old spacious farmhouse has been renovated and turned into a relaxed haven for tourists surrounded by a lovely garden. We have no swimming pool, but the four earth dams around the farmhouse more than compensates. Besides our summer temperatures are not very high, 10°C lower than the Namib Desert, due to the high altitude (1760m above sea level)
The farmhouse with a lovely garden and surrounding earth dams, provide the opportunity for bird watchers to explore the mysteries and grace of the wide variety found in the area during the summer and winter season. Pelicans, Flamingos and Black Eagles are occasionally spotted.
Namibgrens Guest Farm is situated on the escarpment that provides ever-lasting views over the Namib Desert. Different scenes from different angles are possible by either driving on the main road, guided farm tours or by hiking trails.
The rocky and ever changing landscape with its rich fauna and flora allows the hiker to explore nature on the challenging and picturesque dassie hiking trails that vary from 2 hours to 3 day hikes. They provide breathtaking scenes over the Namib Desert and the farm itself and not to mention Klipspringer, Mountain Zebra, Kudu, Dassies, Baboons and Steenbok that can be seen on the trails.

Stayed in the beautiful mountain campsite. Toilet and showers well hidden between the big rocks and can be reach easily if you are young or active little more difficiult for the elderly with stiff knees - Enjoyed the stay.

An unbelievable experience. We are new campers and after being married for 34 years thought we would try something different. It was not even neccesary to set up our tents, there was already a tent set up and the shower inspired me to write a song. The environment is beautiful, the swimming pool the nicest ever, even though I slipped in as it was a bit slippery, but that is how we get wise. A pitty that the stalls wernt operating and that there was no information given on the times of the game drives, this would really help. Else we would reccommend this as a 12 out of 10 experience. "n Olgelooflike ervaring. Ons is nuwe kampeerders en het na 34 jaar getroude lewe besluit om iets anders te doen. Dit was nie eers nodig om ons tent op te slaan nie, daar was klaar 'n tent en die stort het my geinspireer on 'n liedjie te skryf. Die omgewing is beeldskoon, die swempoel seker die mooiste ooit alhoewel ek heel ongrasieus ingegly in plaas van in geklim het, dis bietjie glad, maar so word mens wys. Dis jammer dat die padstal nie in werking was nie en dat daar gen inligting met aankoms gegee word oor wanner daar wildritte is nie, dit sal nogals help. Verder sal ons dit aanbeveel as 'n 12 uit 10 ervaring.

Fist night in Namibia at Namibgrens Geustfarm was very nice. Rooms are nicely decorated for a romantic couple. Host lady very helpful in seeking further accommodation. Only neg: No payment by credit card, but problem was said to be resolved soon!

Very pleasant stay, delightful house and hosts, excellent meals (home grown) in a traditional family dining room. Marvellous conservatory. Enjoyed a good walk which was well marked but a bit confusing in places and we decided to retrace our steps as it was getting late in the day instead of completing the circuit.

Really comfortable and clean rooms. Lovely surroundings and well taken care of. Ordering the meals is well worth it - homemade and grown on the farm - very tasty! Nice hosts too.
