The prestigious Mountain Retreat, self-catering and romantic holiday cottages, is located at Constantia Neck in Cape Town, and is situated on the beautiful Houtkapperspoort Holiday Resort grounds.

There are eight self-catering cottages with all the amenities you will expect from a 4 Star resort. The cottages provide not only fine décor, fine furnishings and spectacular views, but have also been exclusively designed and furnished to appeal to the romantic at heart and those accustomed to high standards. They are cosy and intimate, and comfort is paramount in each of the cottages. The finest bed and bath linen provide guests with the ultimate in luxury.

For your comfort, each cottage has air-conditioning and underfloor heating. The lounges have fireplaces or jet masters, and the hotel bouquet satellite channels have been specifically chosen to satisfy everyone’s interests. If you prefer to stay in and relax during some evenings, contact reception as they have an extensive list of DVDs for hire.

The beautifully landscaped grounds, abundance of flowers, and indigenous plants create a haven for animals and many species of bird life. Guinea fowl have been a huge source of amusement to many of our guests when they join them on the patio in the mornings. The resident springbok create a most unique photo shoot opportunity to those who have not had the pleasure to view them up close.

Transport is essential and supermarkets, shops, banks and ATMs or medical centres are eight minutes' drive away in either Hout Bay or Constantia. Most tourist attractions can be reached in a radius of an hour from your unit with the hustle and bustle of Cape Town city life a mere 30 minutes drive away.

Relax on your patio with a sundowner viewing the beautiful gardens and vineyards, Twelve Apostles Mountains and the Hout Bay Sentinel in the distance.
