Situated on the Indian Ocean as the Gateway to the Wild Coast, East London offers un-spoilt Beaches and Lagoons, but also the luxuries of a growing City with Shopping Centers, Hospitals and Airports.

We offer suitable accommodation for holiday makers as well as for business people. On offer is a family cottage which is fully self-catered and also rooms en-suite. All units have fridges (with honesty bar), tea/coffee facilities, microwaves, toasters. All have private entrances and there is off-street, behind remote gates, parking. Our reputation is home from home personal service. Our guests are not just another stranger, but a friend of the establishment and the family that runs it. We are small enough to remember your name and the special requests you make. The B&B is close to everything, but down a side crescent which makes it a quiet and tranquil place to be. We offer WiFi, credit card facility, map on arrival and a wide smile to make your stay happy and memorable.

Our stay was fantastic. The hospitality that we received from the owners was amazing, they were very helpful and always available. The unit we stayed in was very nice and clean.

After an unfortunate accident delayed our trip through the Transkei, we arrived extremely late(23:15) and although we had notified Sadie the reception was still extremely warm and inviting. We were only booked for 1 night and once we woke the following day and able to witness the surrounds, the hospitality and incredible homeliness did we realise we should have considered staying a few more days. Our stay at the Monkey Tree was as always, delightful. The accommodations are clean and affordable, well situated on a quiet street. Sadie is ever the wonderful, hospitable hostess.
