Middelplaas

Middelplaas is a working farm nestled at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains, close to Vleiland.

The four-bedroom house offers all bedding and towels. The main bedroom has a double bed and we can add an additional bed on request. The room is equipped with a ceiling fan, a heating panel and an en -suite bathroom with a shower and a bath. The other three rooms offer single beds and ceiling fans; some have heating panels. The rooms share the use of a second bathroom with a bath and a shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, a stove, an oven, a microwave, cutlery, crockery and a dishwasher. There are laundry facilities such as a washing machine, a tumble-dryer, an iron and ironing board. The large open-plan lounge and dining room is equipped with a TV with local channels and guests can bring their own decoder and smart card for DStv. The lounge also has a double sleeper couch, a ceiling fan, a heater and two extra single beds on request.

Services available at an additional cost include braai wood, fresh baked farm breads, home-made preserves, fresh or dried fruit and vegetables, braai packs and salads. We can also arrange catering, but this must be booked in advance. Unfortunately no animals or pets are allowed due to the farm environment.

Guests can make use of the enclosed open-air braai next to the house, the large centre braai or the indoor braai. Guests can cool down in the farm dam on hot says. There are various activities such as hiking, birdwatching, cycling and stargazing. Guests can also take drives to the small settlements of Vleiland and Rouxpoort as well as Seweweekspoort.
