Awesome weekend -
14 August 2007
This was truly an amazing experience for all of us. The place was clean and everything that we requested was supplied. We would like to go back there next year since it has been one of the best bush experiences I have had!

Great place in a great location -
08 August 2007
We had a wonderful time at the Mbingu Lodge. It is like having a large beach house, except it is in the bushveld. Marloth Park is near to Kruger, but not in it, which is good. The animals here are increasingly habituated to humans, and we had kudu and zebra come to beg for handouts when we had our braai on the large deck. At night you will hear all the sounds of the bushveld. The large house has three large bedrooms with three full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped. The gener ... more

Description
Mbingu is the Swahili word for Heaven and you’ll find your own little corner of heaven here in Marloth Park, which is a private residential Nature Reserve situated at the Southern tip of the Kruger National Park. A four hour drive east of Johannesburg International Airport (1 hour east of Nelspruit International Airport) The park is reached via the N4 toll road between Malelane and Komatipoort. A four hour drive east of Johannesburg International Airport (1 hour east of Nelspruit International Airport) The park is reached via the N4 toll road between Malelane and Komatipoort. Wake with the sunrise, to a chorus of bird calls and see the African bush though your bedroom window. You can enjoy close-up and personal visits with much of the wildlife in Marloth Park. Animals such as giraffe, impala, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, bush buck, and many others might call by while you enjoy your breakfast on the east facing stoep. Explore the bushveld on foot, by mountain bike or car, but remember you are in the bush, along with wild animals, so take appropriate precautions. Visit the Crocodile river, which is the boundary with Kruger, where many of the ‘Big Five’ are frequent visitors. Access to the Kruger National park is either through Crocodile bridge gate ± 14 km, or Malelane gate ± 26 km away. You can either take self-drive trips through the southern park areas, or with professional game guides and trackers, on the day or night drives, in open safari vehicles. There have been over 350 species of birds recorded in the area, more than 100 of which have been viewed from the property. making it a birdwatchers paradise. At the end of the day sip sundowners on the upper deck or take in the spectacular sunsets. After dark you can identify the constellations in an unpolluted sky, and absorb the sounds of the African night. Listen for the call of the lion, elephant, hyena and hippos among others, as well as the night jars, owls and dikkops. Watch out for the red eyes of the bush babies who love to jump through the trees. This is also the time the steenbok and duiker like to visit. The house is a double storey under thatch. It’s surrounded by unspoilt bush and very secluded. A permanent water hole is situated nearby, which encourages the movement of animals through the property. As we believe in a true bush experience we don’t provide TV, radio or air conditioning, but all bed rooms are fitted with ceiling fans, and free standing fans are also available, for you to move where most convenient. The house is light, airy and very spacious and consists of: Downstairs – 2 twin bedrooms with en-suite bath rooms and dressing areas (the twin beds can be pushed together to form one large bed if preferred) Well equipped kitchen and scullery for all your self catering needs, Spacious lounge and dining room Upstairs – Double bedroom, bathroom and further lounge area with double Sofa bed Outside- Built in braai and large entertainment area Newly built splash pool A ‘feeding station’ where you can place animal food. Large car-port to provide shade for either your car or visiting game. We provide: All bedding Towels (except for swimming) Crockery and cutlery. Cooking utensils. Dish washing liquid, dishcloths and other cleaning materials. Small library with novels, books and publications on nature as well as some games Daily cleaning service can be arranged, at extra cost. Don’t forget to bring: Food Drinks Personal toiletries. Swimming towels Malaria tablets and sprays. Firewood (or for sale at local super markets) Food for the animals and birds who like most things, but some favourites are cabbage, carrots, chicken corn, seed and fruit (especially bananas for the bush babies) Other facilities in Marloth Park Mini supermarkets. Filling station. Restaurants and bars with TV's for major sports events Swimming pool & entertainment area in Maroela St Access to Lionspruit - Marloth's private game reserve.
