Awesome.
Awesome. We arrived to be greeted by a warthog at the front door (after meeting Dawn with the keys) and a herd of zebra at the stoep. The place was neat and clean and perfect for a family with children. We will most definitely return.

Awesome weekend
This was truly an amazing experience for all of us. The place was clean and everything that we requested was supplied. We would like to go back there next year since it has been one of the best bush experiences I have had!

Great place in a great location
We had a wonderful time at the Mbingu Lodge. It is like having a large beach house, except it is in the bushveld. Marloth Park is near to Kruger, but not in it, which is good. The animals here are increasingly habituated to humans, and we had kudu and zebra come to beg for handouts when we had our braai on the large deck. At night you will hear all the sounds of the bushveld. The large house has three large bedrooms with three full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped. The gener ... more

Description
Mbingu, the Swahili word for Heaven, is located in Marloth Park offering a secluded home in the bush where you can really relax and refresh. Marloth Park is a private residential Nature Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park, along the Crocodile River. The accommodation is surprisingly spacious, with an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen with adjoining scullery. Either side of the lounge/dining room there’s a large twin bedded room, with en-suite bathroom and dressing area. On the upper level is a large double-bedded room with an adjacent bathroom. Also on this level there’s a further lounge area with a sofa bed, and access to the upper outside deck, which affords views of the unspoilt bush. All bathrooms have showers, and one on the ground level also has a bath. The well-equipped kitchen provides for all your self-catering needs, including a stove, microwave and fridge/freezer. Mains electric and water supply the house, but, as we believe in a bush experience, we don’t have air-conditioning or TV, but all rooms have fans. The house is fitted with security gates, and an alarm system offering 24-hour security. Outside there’s a large entertainment area with built-in braai, and a splash pool where you can enjoy a refreshing dip. A ‘feeding station’ is located just beyond the braai, and animal food can be purchased at the hardware store in the Bush Centre. A permanent water hole is situated approximately 50 meters from the house, which encourages the movement of animals through the property. Wake with the sunrise, to a chorus of bird calls and see the African bush though your bedroom window. You can enjoy close-up visits with much of the wildlife in Marloth Park. Animals such as giraffe, impala, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, bushbuck, duiker and much more, roam freely in this unfenced reserve. You can explore on foot, by mountain bike or car, but remember you are in the bush so take appropriate precautions. Visit the Crocodile River, a mere 15-minute walk from the house, which is the boundary with Kruger, where many of the ‘Big Five’ are frequent visitors. Access to the Kruger National Park (KNP) is either through Crocodile Bridge Gate ± 14 km, or Malelane Gate ± 26 km away. KNP offers a range of game drives and walking safaris – these need to be booked well in advance. There have been over 350 species of birds recorded in the area, more than 100 of which have been viewed from the property, making it a birdwatchers paradise. After dark you can identify the constellations in an unpolluted sky, and absorb the sounds of the African night. Watch out for the red eyes of the bush babies that love to jump through the trees, We supply all bed linen, towels (except for swimming) crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, dish washing liquid, dishcloths and other cleaning materials. A daily cleaning service can be arranged, at extra cost. A small library provides books and publications on nature and novels, as well as some games. On Olifants Drive, you’ll find the Bush and Trading Post Centres. These provide a petrol station, supermarkets, a hardware store, bottle store, curio shop and a Laundromat. Also at the Bush Centre is a bar and restaurant, with a swimming pool and large screen TV. Close to Marloth Park are the borders of Swaziland and Mozambique (Passports and Visas may be required) Remember; this is a Malaria area - please take precautions.
