Come enjoy the serene and tranquil beauty of Matjiesvlei, situated at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains between Calitzdorp and Ladismith, where farming dates back as far as 1821.

Indulge in the comfort of one of our four historic and quaint self-catering cottages nestled in this picturesque valley. Each cottage offers an equipped kitchen, barbecue facilities, bedding, oil lamps, candles, and hot water.

If you prefer being even closer to nature try our camping site, Die Dam Rivierkamp, situated on the shores of the Gamka River. The River Camp is a shady 4x4 bush camp with modern ablution blocks and hot water, situated on the banks of the Gamka River.

Die Wahuis is designed for a couple to enjoy a breath-taking view of manicured lucerne fields, the winding Gamka River and the majestic Swartberg Mountain Range. The restored building includes a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and stoep with a braai.

Cloete Huis is amongst one of the oldest buildings in Matjiesvlei and provides an ideal honeymoon breakaway. The house is fully furnished with one bedroom and a beautiful view of the valley and Swartberg Mountains. A separate bedroom with two single beds and bathroom is also available in the outbuilding. The house does not have electricity, but is equipped with sufficient candles, oil lamps, and a donkey boiler for hot water.

Huis Oppie Rant is a three-bedroom self-catering cottage with beautiful wooden floors and ceilings, and a magnificent view of the mountains. Two of the rooms each have a double bed while the third room has two single beds. The cottage does not have electricity, but is equipped with sufficient gas lamps and a donkey boiler for hot water. The cottage has its own braai facilities, a fully-equipped kitchen, and bedding. Completely isolated from the hustle and bustle of city life, you can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets from the verandah.
