Mashatu Safari Camp

Situated in the north eastern enclave of Botswana lies Mashatu Game Reserve, an area of history and legends, offering some of the most exciting game viewing in Africa. It is a place of exceptional beauty where one can explore 46,000 hectares of rugged, unspoilt African landscape in the comfort of open 4x4 vehicles. This area is unchanged since the days of early visitors such as Kipling, Selous and artist-explorer Sir Thomas Baines. Historic and archaeological sites abound; notable are the Motloutse Ruins and the Pisani Koppie sites.

Mashatu Main Camp is a refuge of unparalleled bushveld comfort and service, blending in with the gamelands and surrounded by teeming wildlife. The accommodation includes insect-proofed bedrooms and have his and her bathrooms in each room, with shaded verandah, connected by French doors which offer spectacular views. A double and extra-large single bed, complete the well-appointed chalets. The camp boasts a magnificent viewing deck directly off the bar or gin trap, together with an elevated lounge overlooking a water-hole. All meals and snacks are prepared with the finest available fresh produce. The cuisine has been described here as out of this world, the bushveld one.

The wildlife experience at Mashatu is personalized. The dedicated, experienced Tswana rangers and trackers are keen to show you their world. Radio-linked four-wheel drive vehicles set out at dawn and again at dusk in search of the diversity of fauna and flora which abound throughout the reserve.
