Facilities

Marula Lodge is a modern-african styled Guesthouse with a friendly atmosphere, situated in the picturesque town of Swellendam. The Guesthouse is within walking distance of various fine restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine. Amenities and a variety of shops are also within walking distance. We offer comfortable accommodation, a sparkling swimming pool with stunning mountain views and serve a sumptuous breakfast on the garden terrace.

Stay a while - you may not be able to take in all that Swellendam and its beautiful surrounding areas can offer in merely one day. The area offers many activities and excursions such as beautiful mountain trails, horse riding, whale watching, wine tasting and many more. It can be used as the central point to visit surrounding areas, each one unique in its own right. We will gladly help you organise your tour or you are more than welcome to join us on one of our organised day trips which may include wine tasting, riverside picnics, boat trips, river crossing by hand drawn ferry or a trip to a natural cave at the sea.

Very pleasent 1 night stay. A lot of thought put into the room / ensuite layout. Filip and marion made us very welcome and set us on our way with a superb breakfast!

Wij sliepen in de nieuwe kamers die recent bijgebouwd waren en het is zeker een aanrader. Het ontbijt is lekker en verzorgd. De uitbaters zijn zeer behulpzaam en kennen hun regio zeer goed. Leuk restaurantje net naast de deur.

Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, but it was absolutely perfect! The hosts were very welcoming, we had a garden room and it was super, clean & well appointed. Next time, we will definately spend longer and see all that Swelledam has to offer. Thank you for a lovely stay!! You have my 5 stars! Pete & Heather Pfister

We had an awesome experience. Could not find any fault from the time we arrived until we left. Reception very heartly welcomes - very friendly. The room was beautiful,very neat and tidy, breakfast was the cherry on top and very smartly presented. Everything was just amazing. Just wish we could have stayed a little longer. Thank you so very much for everything.
