Deep in the heart of the African bush, camouflaged by a canopy of trees, lies a hidden haven of beauty and tranquility called Marloth Kruger Lodges. The units are conveniently situated a five-minute drive from the Crocodile River and 12 km from the entrance to the Kruger National Park.

This group of four, fully-equipped lodges offers an unforgettable African bush experience with homely comforts and good value for money. Bushpig Lodge sleeps eight guests and it is warm and welcoming. Giraffe Lodge sleeps six guests in two bedrooms. Zebra Lodge sleeps six guests and it is very private. Big 5 Lodge sleeps 10 guests.

Big 5 sleeps 10 guests. The thatched lodge is camouflaged under a canopy of trees offering peace and privacy. An open-plan living area is furnished with comfortable leather sofas decorated in warm and earthy colours, combined with animal prints and original pieces of African art. The kitchen is fully equipped including a stove, hob, fridge, microwave and a coffee machine. There are two bedrooms with one king-size bed and two single beds. There are two bathrooms downstairs with a bath and a separate shower and another three bedrooms located upstairs with two queen-size beds and one single bed. The upstairs TV lounge offers DStv, there is a splash pool, a braai boma and two viewing decks. Air-conditioning, fans, all linen and towels are provided.

Very good value

We were given a great chalet-type accommodation with a nice kitchen, bedroom and living room. It was very spacious and well laid out. The area outside was nice with a braai pit, chairs and hammocks. Watching the monkeys and warthogs play around was fun as well. The cons were the brownish water out of the taps and bathrooms, maybe due to flooding at the time, and the TV and DVD player were especially bad as well.
