March Hare Cottage

March Hare Cottage is a charming self-catering cottage, sleeping up to four guests, situated in a delightful garden in the heart of Stormsriver Village. Stormsriver Village is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Garden Route. The impressive Tsitsikamma Mountains rise from an ecological wonderland of greenery with fynbos, natural forests and pine plantations luxuriating amongst an array of wild flowers which delight the eye for most of the year, but particularly in the spring and summer.

The country village, located 1 km from the N2 turn-off, has retained its rural roots with massive old trees, a few attractive shops including a showroom displaying a fascinating vintage Cadillac collection in an immaculate condition, an Adventure Centre, Post Office, and a character Cape Victorian-style hotel.

March Hare Cottage is open plan and features double-height ceilings with skylights and is fully equipped to a high standard of comfort and design. The cottage contains a bedroom with an extra-length double bed with electric blanket, as well as a sleeper couch. The bathroom features a shower and Victorian bath and the living area features an open log fireplace and a TV with DStv. The verandah offers built-in barbecue facilities and is stacked with wood and charcoal, and safe parking behind automated gates is also provided. In addition, the cottage is conveniently situated adjacent to the hotel with its pub and restaurant.

The area is the heart of adventure territory, offering hiking trails, birding, forest canopy tours, bungee jumping, exploration of the Tsitsikamma National Park or simply unwinding the soul. Nearby, Stormsriver Mouth, situated in the National Park, offers a small well-maintained beach, a wonderful boarded walk up under a canopy of trees to a suspension bridge of the river mouth, as well as a popular restaurant overlooking the beach and restless sea.

The attractions of Plettenberg Bay are approximately 45 minutes’ drive away with many designer shops, restaurants and polo fields. Knysna is a further half an hour’s drive with its waterfront marina and upmarket shops, speciality restaurants for oysters, and short bay and Heads cruises.
