Manatana Private Bush Camp

Manatana Private Bush Camp is situated within the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve. This privately owned bush camp is the ideal getaway for the real bush enthusiast. The Grietjie Private Nature Reserve is situated in the Ba-Phalaborwa area in the Northern Province of South Africa and is popular amongst both local and international visitors.

The magnificent reserve, which is approximately 3,000 hectares in size, is a nature-lover’s paradise. The reserve also boasts a large variety of game and for the bird-lovers out there, over 260 amazing bird species. Situated off the R40, 55 km from Hoedspruit and 30 km from Phalaborwa, Manatana Private Bush Camp is a comfortable five to six hours’ drive from Gauteng.

The rondavel is spacious and contains a queen-size bed and two bunk beds, with bed linen as well as towels provided. Features include a water dispenser with hot and cold filtered water, a ceiling fan to keep you cool during those warm days and an en-suite shower. In keeping with the natural theme, the shower with his-and-hers basins, is decorated with stones and pebbles collected on the farm. A gas geyser provides hot water and towels and guest supplies are also provided.

The building in which the kitchen and lounge are located, is separate from the rondavel. The kitchen is well-equipped with a fridge, gas stove, microwave, double sink, crockery and cutlery. The outside braai provides ample opportunity for the outdoor cook to show off his or her barbecue skills.

The bush lounge area, adjacent to the rondavel, is double-storey, with the lounge and kitchen on the ground level and the open-air lounge and deck above. The deck offers an unrestricted view of the swimming pool and waterhole, which is often a hive of activity, from bird life to giraffe and elephants.
