Come and relax in the tranquil surroundings of the luxurious, fully self-contained Mallard Cottage set in the beautiful, secure Waterberry Country Estate. Watch the zebras, blesbok, impala and mongoose playing in the veldt. Wake up to the call of the fish eagle and of some of the 160 plus species of birds. With the big dam less than 100 m away you can spot the African Jakana, White Faced ducks, and lots of other water birds.

The cottage has two beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other has twin beds, all with crisp white linen on deep mattresses. Both bedrooms have a sitting area and large bathrooms; each with its own shower and bath. Between the two bedrooms is the comfortably furnished lounge, with open plan, fully equipped kitchen, complete with fridge/freezer, large gas stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and Weber barbeque. Off the lounge is the covered patio where, on a sultry summer evening, you can relax enjoying a drink or a leisurely meal while watching the birdlife in your private area of the garden and around the dam. On a crisp winter evening snuggle up in the comfort of a log fire and watch PVR DStv or a DVD of your choice.

Dilly's Suite is a large double bedroom with sitting area inside and private patio outside. It has also has a large bathroom with a shower plus a bath which overlooks the garden and dam. It’s in a separate wing of the main house and has its own private entrance. Dilly's also has PVR DStv and a DVD player. Although it doesn't have a kitchen, for your convenience there is a fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, and toaster. The cottage and suite both have mini bars with cold drinks, chips, chocolate etc. and are cleaned and serviced every day. Tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk, rusks, biscuits, fruit and sweets are provided with our compliments. For your comfort, and for those who follow, all the rooms are non-smoking. There are a number of excellent and good value restaurants nearby, plus theatres and cinemas all of which we would be happy to book for you. Airport transfers and day trips to any of the local attractions can also be arranged.

The dramatic scenery of the Panorama Route includes God's Window, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkes Luck Potholes, and numerous beautiful waterfalls. The Route encompasses tourist attractions such as Pilgrim's Rest, Sudwala Caves, Long Tom Pass, Sabie, Dullstroom, silk farms etc. The Cheetah and lots of other rehabilitation centers allow you to get real close to endangered wildlife. Then there is the famous Kruger National Park on your doorstep. Magnificent golf courses, hot air ballooning, river rafting, day and night game safaris, scenic flights, plus many other activities for your pleasure. The many arts, crafts and curio stalls and studios are well worth a visit. Just a little further afield lie fascinating Swaziland and Mozambique.

We had a wonderful overnight stay in the very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. This is a highly recommended venue for anyone wanting a stop-over in the area or for anyone wanting to relax and explore the area for a few days.

I spent 6 days in Dillys suite, together with my daughter. A fantastic place near Kruger and a lot of spectacular places. never had a warmer welcome. I can only 100% recommend this cottage, located in a small estate with its own dam and animals all around. Thanks Jan and Neil for such a beautiful vacation.

A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a family. The wildlife on the estate was an added bonus and the children loved looking for the zebra, impala and blesbok.

Mallard Cottage was great. Set in an estate the cottage was clean and comfortably furnished. Great for a stop over on the way to Kruger Park or as a base for exploring Mpumulanga.

We loved Mallard Cottage - it was in a stunning setting and was really peaceful. It is also close to both "city" and spectacular sights. Would definitely return.
