Nestling, peacefully at the foot of the Steenkampsberg, only 285kms from Johannesburg, you will embark on this luxury four star country lodge. Malapo Country Lodge is a well-situated stopover for the visitor who wishes to enjoy the interesting and scenic attractions that Mpumalanga has to offer. Activities : Malapo Country Lodge boast a 14" Meade telescope on site. After dinner our guests can join us on a Unique Astro Safari. Our Astro Safari offers visitors an opportunity to view the brilliance of the Southern Hemisphere night sky, from the moon to deep space, under the guidance of a "Star Ranger". The Astro Safari should mot be missed. It is a unique feature to captivate the miracle of the open skies and the vastness of the Universe. Hiking trails are available nearby. Children will be occupied on the 9 hole mini-golf course, swimming pool and the play park. A large variety of birds is resident of frequently visit the lodge. These range from African Spoonbill, bald Ibis, Blackcrowned Night Heron, Goliath Heron, Fish Eagle and barn Owl to name a few. Accommodation: Malapo Country Lodge has four charming country cottages set among beautifully manicured gardens. The cottages are warm and welcoming to provide guests with privacy and comfort during their visit. A maximum of ten adults and 3 children can be accommodated which ensures personal attention from management and staff. Other Amenities: The pub, 'The Meet', is decorated in the English hunting theme and burns a log fire in winter to keep the cold at bay and to enhance the atmosphere. Enjoy a quality bottle of South African wine before sitting down in our cosy restaurant for a four course table d'hote meal prepared by the chef every evening. Breakfast is a hearty full English breakfast every morning. On special occasions, a thatch and wood boma with a bon fire is used to serve dinners under the starlit African sky.
