About Magoebaskloof Birders' Cottages

Magoebaskloof Birders’ Cottages are located on Dragonwyck Farm in the Magoebaskloof on the edge of the Limpopo Drakensberg escarpment. This cottage was very nice, clean and larger than we expected.  The place has been well designed to provide you with lots of windows to look out in different directions.  I loved the kitchen which was very well appointed.  Seed was provided to feed the colorful birds.  The samango monkeys came by briefly but did not bother us.

Very quiet and relaxing.   The road to the cottage is a bit rough but with the right vehicle it is ok.
Did not have time to explore the trails nearby.  We would return and stay longer if we are in the area.

I recently enjoyed a week in Trogon cottage and can't recommend it highly enough. Very comfortable accommodations, and fantastic birding, too!

I cannot add to the glowing reviews that already exists. The only thing I can add, is that the cottages, at least Robin, where I stayed, is equipped with every possible thing you can imagine for your stay. This is not clear on the website. But from any type of cutlery, wine glasses, roasting tins, sunlight liquid, wood, firelighters, blankets, cards, games, bodywash, any kind of utensil, pillows, bug repellent - you name it, they've got it. So don't bring anything. Bring yourself, your food and some clothes. And enjoy. It truly is worth every moment.
