Rich in bird- and wildlife, including Africa’s Big 5, it is here where nature has united to create the perfect paradise on earth. Spread over more than 12500 ha of malaria-free, unspoilt bushveld, Mabalingwe Nature Reserve nestles in the shadow of the majestic Waterberg mountains.

There are a number of recreational activities to be found. After a memorable day of activities, relax with a superb meal in the restaurant. Enjoy cocktails against the backdrop of the setting sun and listen to the nocturnal calls of the wild.

From game and bird drives, to lion feeding drives and horse back safaris, a large variety of activities are available. Guests are also allowed to enter the gameviewing area with their own vehicles, ensuring that you have maximum time to search for Africa’s Big 5.

The service and friendliness of the staff combined with the wonder of the wild, will ensure you leave Mabalingwe with unforgettable memories. Mabalingwe Nature Reserve is a haven created for you, whether you need a break, a holiday, a conference or a venue for your private or company function.

What originally started as a maize and game farm in 1972, belonging to the Wessels family, has now become the internationally well-known Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. At the Tshukudu Restaurant and Kanniedood Ladies Bar you can choose from a variety of delicious meals and drinks. Relax with a cocktail in the Kanniedood Ladies Bar and snack on light meals while overlooking the WP Wessels Dam, or enjoy culinary delights in the African atmosphere of the Tshukudu Restaurant. Two ATM machines are available as well as petrol and diesel at the main gate.

To be honest with you, it was so nice and marvelous. We are still planing to come back soon. Please keep up and be as nice as you were when we were there. A million thanks to you.

We had a fantastic time at Mabalingwe, what a priviledge to have the wildlife on your doorstep every morning which delighted our 6 month olds. The client liaison however needs work as reception staff seem unsure of how to do their jobs. Cleaning staff and security at the gates were however incredibly polite and always willing to help with a smile

I read the reviews of previous visitors before we left for this resort and wondered about it - thought the complaints could not be true. This is a well known resort - locally & internationally! My wife ended a very difficult work-experience of 2 years, and I wanted to treat her. Short story - we camped in the caravan park. When we arrived the campsite reception - allthough friendly - did not have card facilities. We had to drive up to main reception where the receptionist informed us that we had to pay the full amount - whilst at the campsite they had my prepaid deposit on record! At the campsite they were working with a 'back-acter' moving gravel and dust all over our tent. I had to ask the operator to slow down. Another shock was that the caravan park - whilst one would expect it to be in the bush where one could enjoy the quiet tranquility of the bush - is situated right next to the busy entry road of the resort and a few meters from the main road - very noisy! The restaurant was a disaster. Our table was poorly dressed - no salt & pepper, blunt knives for the VERY tuff ribbs we ordered! We could not eat the ribbs! I ordered the garlic snails for starters - sorry we don't have garlic! The 'water & lemon' finger-dipp - for sticky fingers - was ICE cold. A five star resort? The waitres was absolutely clueless and couldn't assist with even the basic requests. She had our second round of drinks wrong! The restaurant manager - Moses I think his name was, was very apologetic and took down all our complaints. The place looks run down - so as if it needs an organised and dedicated General Manager! Anyhow - we left a day early - such a pity!

Very enjoyable experience. Had reasonably good facilities - lovely swimmingpool area. Food in the restaurant however was not congruent with a 4 star facility. Game viewing was fair - lots of buck and warthog but only one sighting of Big (rhino). We would recommend it to our friends and would return for another visit.

The reserve is great. The only problem I had is that they had no record of the deposit I paid you. I had to go into my bank account to prove that I had paid you a deposit.
