Lovely hideaway, keep it a secret,04 August 2008
The stone cottages are beautiful and the surrounding mountains and lake is just breath taking. Our stay was short and wet but still wonderful.
Will stay longer next time as there was so much we did not get around to doing (kayaking, horse riding).
Really a wonderful place for a couple or a whole family.

Description
Welcome to Mosaic Farm, a luxury guest lodge on the Hermanus Lagoon, 2 hours SE of Cape Town. A place to unwind and be renewed...a touch of heaven on earth coloured by wildflowers, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the lagoon, ancient milkwoood thickets, and the majestic beauty of the Overberg Mountains.
Our unique position on the lagoon and bordering the pristine beaches of Walker Bay, makes Mosaic the perfect place from which to explore amazing birdlife, endemic plants, mammals, and marine life; including the giant Southern Right Whales, Dolphins, Seals and Great White Sharks.
Our full-service luxury Lagoon Lodge is woven into an ancient milkwood grove on the lagoon edge, built safari-style with stone and canvas under thatch (5 chalets).
We provide for 10 guests in luxurious beds under netting, large romantic tubs, private outdoor showers and wooden decks.
Unwind in our spa pool overlooking a bird sanctuary, with the lagoon and mountains as a spectacular backdrop.
Follow the boardwalks through the trees to an open-air lapa, where delectable meals and drinks are served by a fireplace that will warm your soul.
We also offer 2 lovely self-catering stone cottages, which share magnificent mountains views from the lagoon edge and are surrounded by Milkwood trees and Fynbos gardens.
Perfect for families with beautiful natural finishes, a fireplace, a braai(barbeque) and large decks. Duminy Cottage sleeps 9. Duminchie cottage sleeps 3.
The newly renovated Mosaic Manor House (Spookhuis) will be available at the end of 2007 for weeknd lunches, and is the perfect setting for weddings and small conferences.
Activities: Kayaking, hiking on 933 hectares; Whale watching; Bird watching; Fynbos gardens; pool at the Lagoon Lodge.
