Nestled at the foot of the magnificent Steenkamps Mountains and overlooking the Kwena Dam, Lydenrust Guest Farm is situated on 160 hectares of farmland in the Kwena Basin, 30km from Lydenburg, in Mpumalanga.

Lydenrust Guest Farm prides itself on its reputation for its warm, friendly, hospitable staff that are always willing to go the extra mile!

All accommodation is self-catering with excellent facilities at your disposal. From luxury self-catering cottages to up-market backpackers' accommodation ideal for family get-togethers, group tours and corporate getaways, Lydenrust has much to offer the traveller.

Enjoy stunning scenery from the back of a horse on one of our 1-2 hour trails, or set out on foot with a picnic basket on one of our demarcated foot paths up the mountain.

Make friends with and possibly help bottle feed our people-friendly farm animals.

Whether your interests include horse-riding, bird watching, hiking, mountain-biking, or just laying back and relaxing, you are surrounded by the beauty of nature and the magnificent views.

Lydenrust Guest Farm is Pet-friendly!

PALOMINO LUXURY COTTAGE consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms sleeping 4-6 persons comfortably , a cozy living area complete with television, DVD player and DVD selection, fireplace and a fully serviced kitchen. Built from stone with a thatched roof, Palomino Cottage stays cool during the summer months and warm during winter. Relax and unwind on your private verandah with braai facilities overlooking a gurgling stream and paddock where the horses graze contentedly.

BRUMBY LODGE (14-16 sleeper) is the ideal group venue and includes the following: 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) in Brumby’s Mainhouse; 5 tastefully decorated, cozy and spacious log cabins sleep 2 persons in either twin or double beds (shared ablution block), each with its own private veranda set in park-like gardens commanding spectacular views of the mountains; Fabulous communal facilities at Brumby's Mainhouse (enormous fully-fitted kitchen, lounge etc); Enjoy a sundowner on the stunning deck with huge braai area or an evening under the stars in the open-air boma with fire pit; Other facilities include a lovely splash pool, volleyball, television and board games.

APPALOOSA HOUSE (8-10 sleeper) is a beautiful 4 bedroomed facebrick house with enormous private garden and dam commanding spectacular views of the mountains.

All Lydenrust's accommodation is incredibly affordable with all linen and towels provided, as well as complimentary toiletries, and wood for your fires.

Great place for a family breakaway. I had an experience of the best host, Alison, her grandchildren, the staff are the best. Very accomodating and great care for the guest needs, felt like a home. The animals are good company as well, enjoyed the rides. I would definetely recommend this to everyone and will look forward to go back again. The hosts always go out of their way to make the stay comfortable at odd hours as well.

Allison, jou gasvryheid is van uitstaande gehalte baie dankie daarvoor. Baie dankie dat jy jou koningkryk met ons gedeel het, dit was die wonderlikse 8 dae in ons lewe, die huis waarin ons gebly het,stilte, berge, verwelkoming van jou perde,diere en dan my hondjie wat ook welkom was dit was 'n wonderlike vakansie, ons sal weer gaan kuier dankie daarvoor dit was baie spesiaal.
