A True Weekend Getaway,04 September 2006
We received a friendly welcome by David & Silke. Our stay was very relaxing & easy, no problems. The convenience of shopping centres within 5mins drive was great. The place itself was beautiful, tho we were under the impression that we would have the view of the pool area as shown in the pics But this too was fine as we were glad to have our own space & privacy. Thank-you very much. Would seriously consider spending another weekend away there.

Description
Lorden Lodge (previously Ballyna House) is a Ten Bedroom Guesthouse set on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in the Hottentots Holland Mountain Range that overlooks Somerset West near Cape Town.
Lorden Lodge offers all rooms with en-suite Shower/Bathroom and superb views of Somerset West, False Bay, Gordon's Bay and the Strand, accommodation at it's very best.
The ten superbly appointed en-suite bedrooms all have separate external access, television, secure parking and satellite TV with use of the fantastic feature swimming pool.
A full hot and cold breakfast is served daily indoors and around the swimming pool if the weather permits.
Lorden Lodge offers the discerning guest the opportunity to sup sundowners on the elevated patio while the sun sets over Table Mountain or Strand/Gordon's Bay in a tranquil garden setting.
Based on Main Road, Somerset West, Lorden Lodge is within walking distance of Somerset West Golf Club and 1.5 km of the Lord Charles Hotel.
Other Golf courses nearby include, Erinvale, Spier, Strand and Stellenbosch and as well as the new Arabella Golf Course which is 35 km away.
Strand Beach is 5 minutes drive whilst Cape Town International Airport - 20 minutes, Cape Town City Center the Waterfront and Newlands sports venue - 35 minutes drive.
Centrally situated, Lorden Lodge offers easy access to the Wine and Whale routes, scenic drives and the Cape Nature Reserves.
Lorden Lodge also offers an elevated mini-conference venue and provides a shuttle service to and from Cape Town International Airport.
