Lokanga Boutique Hotel is situated in Antananarivo, perched just yards away from the Queen’s Palace on the sacred royal hill in the heart of the historical neighbourhood, yet within five minutes' drive of the business centre. This classic centenary Malagasy town house has been sympathetically restored over two years and is furnished with family antiques.

The hotel features only six exclusive rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and breathtaking views over the capital city. All are individually styled with antiques and ancient photographs. You can also enjoy the comfortable drawing room, tea terrace and garden which is the ideal place for guests to relax after a day in the bustle of the city.

We can also advise on self-guided walks in the capital of Antananarivo and can arrange visits and transfers in our vintage car that dates back from 1950s.

The Explorator’s Room exposes old maps of Madagascar and is the only twin room of the hotel, featuring two carved wooden beds dating from the late 1800s and early 1900s. The bathroom, with its gilded bathtub, is located in the tower under several metres of ceiling.

The Purple Colonial RoomX 1

This spruce purple room takes its name from the iron canopy bed covered with a great mosquito net. An old dressing table serves as a desk, and it also has a large velvet armchair. A few Chinese decoration items, old and a new, remind us that the Chinese migrants have also participated in Madagascar’s history. Features also include direct access to the balcony.
