Little Thatches is situated 12 km from OR Tambo International Airport, in Benoni the City of Lakes. Now offering a free airport shuttle to our guests, we are even more accessible. Nestled on 14 acres of country ground, where we keep ponies, exotic ducks, Chinese geese, guinea fowl and many wild birds. We are a quiet country escape, with the convenience of the suburbs only 2 km away.
The outdoor swimming pool and lush gardens provide a relaxing retreat. There are also plenty of hiking and bird watching opportunities surrounding Little Thatches. Afterward, you can blog about your adventures using the free wireless internet access. For those who really wish to enjoy the sites of Johannesburg, we will gladly arrange tours, safaris, shopping mall trips, theatre outings and many other exciting activities.
All our rooms have en suite showers and toilets with televisions, heaters, electric blankets, radios and fans for comfort. Guests are welcome to use a communal fridge and microwave, in addition free tea and coffee facilities are available 24hrs. Little Thatches offers double or single rooms under the enchantment of thatch, while Bush Lodge offers guests a private patio, over-looking the pool and a splendid view of the grounds.
We provide a full English breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with fresh coffee and fruit juice, or for the not so hungry a continental. Guests are spoilt for choice, with the many different restaurants and food outlets within 5km of us, but for those who do not wish to venture out we offer home cooked dinners- on prior request. Your hosts are George and Peta Shaw, a hospitable duo who will make your stay unforgettable. Little Thatches, we make you feel at home and special.
