Linyanti Bush Camp

Linyanti Bush Camp is a small, intimate 12-bedded tented camp located on the banks of the Linyanti marshes in a private reserve which borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park in the Chobe Enclave. The camp is limited to small, exclusive groups who seek a personalized experience in a private concession away from the main tourist routes.

The camp offers light, airy and tastefully furnished rooms under canvas Meru tents. The tents are spacious and comprise a bedroom and living area with comfortable sofas and foot stools, an elegant en-suite bathroom hidden behind a grass reed blind with flushing toilet and hot and cold running water, and a sitting area at the front where guests can relax and enjoy the views over the Linyanti marshes.

The main lodge area is a large open-sided canvas tent raised on wooden decking, with a dining area, small library, bar, and lounge with comfortable sofas. The deck gives a full view of the Linyanti floodplains and marsh, where large herds of elephant and buffalo move freely. There is also a splash pool and boma that overlook a small waterhole, and elephant and other animals occasionally wander through the camp.

Activities from the camp consist of day and spot lighting night game drives and walking safaris. This safari camps provides the perfect atmosphere for an authentic and wild safari experience, and the area is best known for its large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers, especially during the dry season. Lion, sable and roan antelope, leopard, and wild dog are a number of the plains game that can be enjoyed at Linyanti, while the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo, and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes.

The Linyanti swamps are one of the most attractive areas in the park as it is the only source of water in the dry months where the majority of the wildlife move to, boasting a great diversity of game and a restful atmosphere. The area's relative remoteness makes it a favoured wild safari destination and one of the best sought-after areas in Northern Botswana.

The area also offers spectacular bird-watching all year round, and is best known for its enormous herds of elephants which move down to the Linyanti River at the start of the winter months and only move back inland once the main rains arrive.
