Le Petit Karoo Ranch

My husband and I spent one night in the "luxury" double room on route to our main destination. The views were superb and if its romantic tranquility you're after this is it. The owner was friendly and breakfast was sufficient. Our only complaint would be the haphazoured hot water in the shower (and sometimes haphazoured water in general), but I guess it is "tented" accomodation? A bit of milk at the coffee station and a less buget coffe brand ( or at least more than one pre-packaged stick) would have made a world of difference. All in all a decent stay,for which the views and cosy bed make up for most of the let downs.

I must be honest - I am the sort of person who prefer a good bed and proper ablutions. I was slightly taken aback when we arrived at the venue to discover it has no shower, and outside loo, and only a bath/jacuzzi at the back (outside) the tent. Initially, I wanted to check out immediately and find more suitable accommodation, but my partner and I decided to open our minds to a new experience. We started each morning with a lovely bath in the midst of nature while appreciating an indescribable view. The bed could have been firmer, but we slept warm every evening (April weather - rainy, windy and overcast). If you want to experience nature and beautiful views, and leave luxury at home, this is the place to do it in.

Romantic spot! Not super luxury but a great tented camp we would definitely go back to.

All I can say is - amazingly peaceful, really enjoyable. Very friendly host family. Pascal is a very good host and we enjoyed him and his delicious food. Le Petit Karoo attracts international travellers and we met people from France and the Netherlands there, as well as a South African family of four. Great quality, exceptional value for money. Breathtaking scenery, amazing views. Lovely, challenging walking trail on site. Lovely sunsets from the big deck - ideal for a sun downer. Rooms tastefully decorated and very clean and neat. We loved the Jacuzzi-style bath and spacious bathroom. Would love to try the bush tents next time, that looked like fun. Only little issue was sharing a room with the kids, no privacy for mom and dad. But that was ok for a few nights. All round fantastic, and highly recommended. Le Petit Karoo was everything they said they were and more.
