About Laventaba Guest House

Laventaba Guest House is a cosy country-style guest house located in the quiet town of Wakkerstoom. The guest house itself is a historical heritage house built in 1880 and still has that old classical feel to it. Guests can see this in the décor and historical touches.

The guest house has three comfortably furnished bedrooms. Each room has a yellowwood fireplace, 100% cotton percale linen and hot water bottles on request. Guests can unwind in the deep baths in the en-suite bathrooms and enjoy a healthy breakfast each morning in the dining room. Dinner is available on request.

Wakkerstroom is situated in a beautiful valley, 27 km from the town of Volksrust. The town has many historical buildings and guests can relax in the tranquil surroundings. The town is mostly known for its wetlands and is nestled in a valley of rolling hills and dams. The village offers activities such as quad biking, birdwatching and the town market.

Wakkerstroom is tops! It was the best weekend wehad in a while. The hostess, Wendy, and her assistants were great.  We had lovely breakfasts, laughed andchatted.  Our room was perfect and theother guests wre great.  We willdefinitely be back next year for the "Musical Festival".Wakkerstroom is great!

Laventaba is more than a guest house - it is a home for the traveller. Wendy, the owner, is a formidable host who will do more than the normal to make you feel at home and to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Over a weekend she became our friend and the food is of exceptional quality. When visiting Wakkerstroom area - this is the place to stay!

Beautifully decorated room. Lovely eclectic atmosphere with old restored wooden furniture and interesting artefacts reflecting Wendy's love for the unusual. Peaceful and relaxed venue met our need for a quiet getaway from tension and stress perfectly. Wendy our host very attentive to our every need and served a scrumptious breakfast.
