Lala Lapa

Lala Lapa is situated in Kosi Bay which offers a rich network of lakes that stretch from Lake Zilonde on the Mozambique border in the north, to Lake Amanzimnyama in the south. It is a complex system of six large lakes, two smaller lakes and one of the best preserved estuaries on the Indian Ocean coastline.

We offer a variety of accommodation options from self-catering to bed and breakfast or camping. We have a restaurant with an entertainment area and a lovely swimming pool. All chalets are equipped with air-conditioners and DStv.

We are situated 4 km from the Kosi Bay lakes, 15 km from Kosi Bay River Mouth, 27 km from Black Rock and 40 km from the Thembe Elephant Reserve. We are 14 km from the Mozambique border post and we are therefore ideally located for safe and secure overnight accommodation when visiting the area or on your way to Mozambique.

Kosi Bay’s lake system is part of the greater St Lucia Wetland Park - a World Heritage Site. It is home to a large variety of birds including a number of rare species; animals such as hippos and crocodiles; and a great variety of fish and other aquatic fauna. This is the land of marshes – it is home to some of the largest in the country including mangroves, coastal dune forests and palm communities.
