Nestling in the shadows of the Waterberg Mountains, near Bela Bela/Warmbaths in the Limpopo Province, Thaba Pitsi is a malaria free private game reserve of 500 hectares. It takes less than 2 hours to reach Thaba Pitsi from Johannesburg and less than 1 hour 30 minutes from Pretoria, travelling on the Polokwane-formerly Pietersburg highway N1 North.
Thaba Pitsi Lodge with its Ndebele bungalows and its luxury tented camp, up there on the hill, and in the heart of the nature reserve.
L’Orange Bleue, the restaurant of Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve 4 star TGCSA has earned a proud reputation for its excellent service and fine cuisine best restaurant in Limpopo awarded a Bibendum by Michelin guide NEOS, as well as four stars every year from 2003 to 2009 and now 5 stars in the 2010 edition of Magazine's top 100 South African restaurants, selected by BBC Food program as being one of the best restaurant of South Africa - selected for Off the Menu BBC show, complimented by a selection of quality wines and popular liqueurs – for connoisseurs of good living.
Also available on the reserve next to L’Orange Bleue Restaurant is The Thaba Pitsi Country-house, la Vallée de Blandine is housed in a farmhouse, converted into a Country-house with modernity, cosy African style and tastefully decorated, offer barbecue facilities, fire place, swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Five rooms in la Vallée de Blandine plus two family bungalows sleeping two adults and two children. Available in Dinner bed and breakfast or self-catering.
