Facilities

With attention to artistic detail and the creativity of the gardens, the accommodation, and the communal areas, LaGoa Eco Village Lodge is often described as 'paradise'.

We offer self-catering huts sleeping from five to eight guests and en-suite double rondavels, all with views onto the lagoon. We also have an en-suite dormitory and camping facilities for those on a budget. All accommodation is self catering and the private huts have their own kitchenettes, while guests staying in the rondavels, dormitory and campsite make use of our communal kitchens. The combination of lush gardens and stunning lagoon provides the perfect setting for relaxing and just soaking up the atmosphere.

We are in an ideal location for a variety of eco friendly activities. These include swimming in our superb lagoon (our own giant swimming pool!), canoeing, volley ball, nature walks, SUPS and kite surfing. The bird life here is exquisite, and there is always the option to simply lull away the day by the lagoon or take a stroll to the beach which is 2kms further along over sand dunes and where you can spot whales at certain times of the year.

We have a lightly stocked bar of soft drinks, beer and cider, and a small stock of basic store cupboard items to purchase like pasta, tuna etcetera should you forget anything. Otherwise you will find local shops, a market and ATM's in Quissico which is just 7kms away.

Our responsible tourism model is committed to supporting the surrounding community, its culture, its economy, and our environment. Our huts are made primarily of coconut wood, grass and reed and are constructed using as much local natural resources as possible, minimal electricity, water conservation techniques, and employees from within the community. Our aim is to provide an opportunity for guests to experience unique accommodation that retains the comforts we’ve become accustom to whilst being aligned with the traditional way of living in Mozambique.

Soooo nice we didn't wanna come home! Everywhere you look there is a special touch of artistic/creativity. Wonderful lake, absolutely relaxing, really shutting down from busy everyday life. Closest i've been to heaven. so glad we found this gem!!

We found it a unique spot in Mozambique. Truly an eco resort, really well equipped and laid back. great spot on the Lagoon, and recommended for that idyllic vacation. Only sour note is that the sea is a half hour walk from the Lodge, and we were led to believe it was right there. We felt it was misleading advertising showing a picture of the sea as if the lodge was on the beach.

We absolutely loved it for the off-the-beaten-track location - 20min from town even though its only 7km, makes this feel totally remote and wild like being on a deserted island. The scenery is spectacular and we did not want for anything. sunset swimming in the lagoon, making a fire under the trees to cook a local fish, stargazing, lazing around and general relaxing is what it's all about. If your'e looking for a "big loud party", double ply loo paper, plug points and unlimited hot water, this is not for you. Its a small lodge with ample communal areas and beautiful gardens. We loved it so much we stayed another night! Definitely recommended for couples wanting to get away or open minded folks wanting to experience a more quieter side of mozambique.

Our 2000 square metre campsite is situated in a stunning location onto the lagoon. It has 13 sites for tents ranging in size from approximately 4 meters by 3 meters to 8 meters by 8 meters. Trees provide shade for some sites, the rest of the sites have shelters to provide shade. It has it’s own ablution block and communal kitchen with gas cookers, saucepans and utensils as well as a fridge. Kitchen sets comprising of dinner sets, cutlery and cups are available for hire. Please note that our campsite is not suitable for caravans or very large off road trailers. The lodge does not have mains power and cooking is with gas. Bathrooms use bucket showers to help in conserving water, there are gas hot water stations throughout the lodge.
