Only a pleasant ninety-minute drive from Cape Town you will find the beautiful little West Coast village of Velddrif on the banks of the Berg River estuary, where the earth is still unspoilt and spared the evil of commercialization and overdevelopment. This is also where you will find L’Amour Guesthouse.
This foot-in-the-water, 4 Star guest house is located on the Port Owen Marina Waterway and has its own private jetty from which the Atlantic Ocean can be reached by boat in 10 minutes.
You may also choose to explore the Berg River which is navigable for about 50 km, and where Flamingos, Pelicans, Spoonbills and many other bird species can be seen.
Watch the thousands of Cormorants fly past on some misty mornings or enjoy fishing from our jetty or from any of the many other fishing spots in the area. Relax in tranquil surroundings and watch the spectacular sunsets from our veranda.
L'Amour is a good base from which to take day trips to Bird Island in Lamberts Bay or go wine tasting at any of the many wine cellars in the area. Alternatively, just drive around and take in the beautiful scenery, particularly during the flower season.
Serious crime has not reached our area yet and it is quite safe for supervised children's activities or for leisurely walks on lovely summer evenings. Safe lock-up, undercover parking is available for guests' vehicles at no extra cost.
