Kosibay Cabins

Description

Kosibay Cabins is situated in the Northern most parts of KwaZulu-Natal and only a few kilometres from the Southern Border of Mozambique, in what is known as the Kosi Forrest Reserve, and is surrounded by the most beautiful landscapes and absolute pristine beaches as well as abundance of fauna and flora. A mere kilometer from the cabins is the well known Kosi Lake System, comprising of four lakes, and 8 kilo's away is the beautiful unspoilt Kosi Mouth, and with thanks to the Parks Board and their rules and permit regulations it has been possible to keep the beaches and lakes pristine and unspoilt.

Amongst the beauty is also surreal occurrences like the Leatherback and Loggerhead Turtles that come lay their eggs annually at beautiful Bhanga Neck between November and February, and on hatching the shores seem to vibrate with energy. Other beautiful beaches and shores in the area include Black Rock and Dog Point where fishing is enjoyed by keen fishermen and un-experienced fishermen alike. Places of interest nearby include the Tembe Elephant Park and the Ndumo Game Reserve

With a restaurant and bar available on the premises, you can take advantage of having either a self catering or a catered for holiday, or both; and as a family run business we trust you will receive the professionalism of an acclaimed resort and also experience the hospitality which is normally reserved for friends.

Having recently changed ownership the lodge is dedicated to giving the guests an experience to be remembered with their hospitality and the wide range of activities and excursions which can be enjoyed.

Our motto is quite simple. Arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

Rustic and friendly

Friendly staff. Good location. Rustic accommodation. Good to have a pool when it's hot. Not close to a beach or lake where one can swim, but I believe you can fish nearby. Interesting environment and plants. Safe. Signage to cabins could be better. Ok food - not spectacular, but for the price it's good enough. Good bar.

What stood out was the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts. A real homely experience. We were greeted like friends on arrival and left as friends. Christmas lunch was the best I ever had at any hotel or similar establishment.

Kosibay Cabins had very nice spacious accommodation and entertainment area, hosts were always obliging and helpful, our tour guide Zulu was extremely informative and accommodating. The only drawback for us was that because we didn't have a 4x4, we had to rely on the establishment for all our travelling to the various spots but they assisted at all times - it just takes the independence away if you don't have your own means of travel but it certainly does not exclude non 4x4'ers gettin ... more

Eugène, the boss, and his wife have been very helpful because my car was immobilized in the sand 50 kms from the hotel in Mozambique. They have spent 3 hours to find me and help me. Arrived at the hotel, he organized a visit of the nature reserve although it was very late. The cabins were very comfortable and breakfast delightful.
