Description
Klipfontein is an extensive cattle ranch of typical African rolling savannah hills against the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains. This is the perfect stop over for weary travellers. The farm is ideally placed for a quick exit from the N3 National Highway, near Estcourt. Our farm entrance is only one kilometre from an N3 interchange. We are also midway between Johannesburg and the Natal coastal resorts. We are situated a few kilometres north of Estcourt SHELL ULTRA CITY Petrol stop on the N3 highway and 20 km from WINTERTON.
Klipfontein Cottage provides an ideal place for visits to any of the major Drakensberg Mountain resorts such as Mont-aux-sources,Cathedral Peak, Champagne Castle and the Champagne Valley offers a variety of attractions such as visits to the Falcon Display Centre, Drakensberg Boys Choir School, Berg flights. Giants Castle Nature Reserve with its historic Bushmen paintings and caves has much to offer.
Weenen Game Reserve and Spionkop game Reserve are about 30 minute drive away.amongst other game species such as kudu, zebra, giraff, wildebeest, blesbok, worthog etc, white and black rhino can also be seen. Horse riding amongst the game is offered at Spion kop Game Reserve.
Boer war battle sites are close by such as Churchill's armoured car de-railment site and the battles of Spionkop and Colenso.
The cottage is private and set in its own garden. Security is of a high standard as the cottage and its garden are part of the farm homestead complex and are enclosed with a perimeter electric fence and gate. The cottage sleeps 2 adults or a family of 4 [i.e.2 adults and 2 children] in two interleading rooms with TV,en suite bathroom has shower, basin and toilet. A kitchenette has the following:small fridge ,kettle [with tea, coffee etc],toaster, microwave / convectional oven crockery and cutlery and a sink.
A cooked breakfast is served if so desired and supper may be arranged at an additional cost of R45 per person.
If you want to braai /barbeque,it will be provided on request.
