Owner Katja Berker, lovingly collected African crafts during her time as a journalist in Southern Africa which is visible throughout the lodge. The main house and all Suites are stylishly decorated with an eye for detail and some tongue in cheek fusion of colonial and African chic.
The romantic garden Jacuzzi is highly popular amongst our regular customers and the seven garden suites all have their own veranda with a view over parts of the 2.6 hectare garden.
Some of of them have an open plan kitchen, fire places and reading corner. All of them have an en-suite bathroom, some with their own courtyard, all with TV, mini bars and coffee and tea facilities.
Kilulu Lodge is situated near Lanseria Airport, and the well-known Ruimsig and Eagles Canyon Golf courses and in walking distance of Monash University. The area is ideal to explore numerous nearby places of interest like The Dome, The Cradle of Humankind, The Lion Park, Botanical Gardens and Rhino Park.
Also well known restaurants such as The Spinx, Casalinga, Angie's and Ramkietjie. Featherbrook and Clearwater Mall shopping centres are just down the road, making it convenient for the self-caterer. Location: We are situated on the Crocodile Ramble, Johannesburg's tourism hub, and are only 10 -15 minutes away from Lanseria Airport.

Disabled Friendly: The Business Suite has been renovated to allow for full wheelchair access by Guy Davies from Disability Consult. Most parts of the lodge are accessible, public areas all are.
Pets Permitted: We love pets. All of them, which is why we have plenty that might not get on with yours. We do not have designated areas for pets, but allow them to stay with you in some of the rooms. We will always try and accommodate.
Relaxation: Relaxation is our theme and everything we do is aimed at making sure that's exactely what you do.

Sophisticated romance pure. Makindi is tucked away under large trees and in the sprawling gardens. Its blue and white theme, candles and antiques creates a wonderful backdrop for a romantic stay. Close to the garden Jacuzzi, birdsong, rustling leaves and the sound of water from one of our ponds will be all you hear. The bathroom is light and airy leading to its own small private courtyard and the Victorian tub adds to the atmosphere of sheer country indulgence.
