Khwai River Lodge

Khwai River Lodge nestles on the edge of a forest overlooking the vast floodplains of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Known for its exceptional range of big game, a host of animals are visible from the comfort of your own private deck at this luxury safari camp.

The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs. Bird life can also be viewed in abundance with exceptional sightings of wildfowl and raptors near the lodge.

Activities at Khwai River Lodge include morning and afternoon game drives in open land cruisers, night spotlight game drives and stargazing presentations conducted after dinner. A cultural visit to a local village can also be arranged, as well as guided safari walks along the Khwai River by one of our experienced team of guides.

For those wishing to stay at the camp and relax, Khwai River Lodge, is equipped with a hide overlooking the Khwai floodplains, a swimming pool, as well as a gym and spa facility. Guests can enjoy indulgent treatments in the facility or in the privacy of their own tent. Khwai River Lodge is perfectly designed to blend into the surrounding environment.

Facilities include an al fresco dining area overlooking the surrounding lagoon, private sites for spectacular bush brunches and dinners on request, a 20 m swimming pool ideal to catch up on some laps, a curio shop, and Internet access and a satellite TV located discreetly away from the main lounge and dining areas.

Also available are VHS radio communications plus 24-hour emergency facilities, tent-to-tent internal telephone services, satellite phones on request, high powered telescopes for stargazing presentations, same-day laundry service, a small reference library of books on the flora and fauna of the area, talks and lectures by our environmentalist on request and a private airstrip and helicopter landing pad.
