Description

Karoonag is a lovely restored Victorian house built in the late 1800s, situated on the slopes of Moonlight Hill in Victoria West. The self-catering home offers a panoramic view over the village and environment and is ideal for a large family or group of friends. Karoonag sleeps up to six people and comprises three bedrooms, a lounge, dining room, kitchen, a full bathroom, and separate toilet.

The town offers a supermarket and excellent restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Moonlight Hill walking trail starts right behind the house and leads to the Victoria West Nature Reserve, home to the Riverine rabbit, an endangered species. The trail offers a 180-degree view of the Karoo and the Victoria West dam, as well as breathtaking sunset views.

Well on our arrival late afternoon we were completely shocked to see where we where sleeping the night. The outside of the house is in a very poor state. On coming inside it is neat and clean with pristine bedding. The house is very cold in the winter and there is only a small heater that is not at all adequate for the house. Rain dammage in the main bedroom is an absolute eye sore as also a big hole high up in the wall of the 3rd bedroom. Also damage on the inside wall in the lou ... more

Ons het baie lekker geslaap. Klein goedjies wat enige mens van vergeet; kyk aseblief na die skottelgoed. Dit was nie mooi skoon gewas nie, die kraan by die wasbak in die kombuis het gelek en teen die kant van die huis. Waar die braai is moet 'n hekkie opgesit word, veral soos in ons geval waar jy reis met jou honde saam met jou. It was very nice. Some attention is needed on the outside of the house. There is a nice outside braai, but some plastic chairs and a table at the braai would be nice. We will definitely stay here again!
