Set in a spectacular location on the bank of the Mara River, Karen Blixen Camp in the Masai Mara offers an authentic yesteryear experience for visitors wishing to gain that little extra from their safari. Karen Blixen Camp offers 22 large luxury en-suite canvas tents, each set on a beautiful wooden platform with a spacious verandah.

Furnished with a comfortable double bed, each tent features an outside shower with amazing views of the sky. Each tent also has a minibar and electricity is provided 24 hours a day. Tents can also be configured for either double or twin occupancy and a third and even fourth bed can be added for children under 12, with prior arrangement. The verandah is furnished with cushion daybeds and guests can relax and enjoy the undisturbed views along the Mara River, providing unique and private game-viewing opportunities.

The open-plan "mess" area is built on a raised wooden deck on the banks of the Mara River and overlooks the resident hippo pod, providing guests with endless entertainment. The mess area consists of the reception, restaurant and lounge area, as well as a home-style bar. Breakfast, lunches and dinners are served in the restaurant or bush garden and for those looking for more, guests can also enjoy a romantic bush dinner set beneath the starlit African night or share stories around the campfire, while listening to the sounds of the night and viewing the magnificent African starlit sky.

Karen Blixen Camp also offers a wide range of wellness treatments and therapeutic body massages using organic African oils, and the inviting swimming pool and sun loungers add to the relaxation. Guests can enjoy early morning game drives, afternoon game drives, full day game drives and thrilling night drives, while game walks give guests an intense feeling of the greatness of the astonishing Masai Mara Ecosystem. Walk almost quietly through the diverse array of grasses and with over 550 bird species, bird watching is an important and interesting element of every game drive and walk. A bird hide is also located in a secluded section just on the southern edge of the camp to allow relaxed viewing any time during the day.
