Description
Nestled on the banks of the Zambezi, only two and a half hours from Lusaka, lies Kanyemba Lodge. The six stone and thatch rondavels with en suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and large veranda, and a thatched family house are discreetly located on the riverbank under the shadow of wild mangoes and huge sycamore figs.
Built of natural materials, they blend in perfectly with the surroundings, providing extreme comfort in the warmer months and a very high level of privacy. Each chalet has its own private veranda overlooking the Zambezi River, where the wake-up call is accompanied by early morning tea or coffee. Each chalet has been beautifully decorated using local art, and has stunning en-suite bathrooms.
Overlooking the river, the restaurant and bar allow spacious dining, while upstairs, guests can relax and enjoy the extensive library with a view. Each evening guests are treated to Kanyemba Lodge's award winning cuisine of traditional Italian fare with the freshest and most typical local ingredients, under the branches of a giant Wild Mango Tree.
Kanyemba also owns and operates a small, intimate Bush camp on its own private Island.
Activities include bird watching, game walks on Kanyemba Island, canoeing, angling, boating, village walks, sunset cruises. Our swimming pool overlooks the Zambezi and is the perfect way to cool down after your morning or afternoon activity. With a minimum three nights stay, game drives can be organised during the dry season. Transfers from Lusaka or from any airstrip can be organised on request.
