Canoe Safari:
Requiring an early start canoeing is possibly the most rewarding activity on the river. Trained guides ferry guests to the top of Kanyemba Island.
After a comprehensive safety talk our canoes follow small channels that weave for 10 kilometres to a prearranged pickup area. As the sun rises and the animals wake there is nothing more magical than drifting silently through one of natures marvels.
Canoe safaris are the perfect way to enjoy the tranquillity of the river while experiencing the Zambezi's unique emotional power.
Canoes provide a totally different approach to Zambian fauna and you will be able to silently get close to the animals drinking along the river or quietly soaking in the shallow waters.
Walking Safari:
Walking Safaris are an experience of its own. Invented in Zambia, and conducted by knowledgeable and qualified guides, this activity allows its participants to experience the African bush on its own terms in all safety.
With all your senses enhanced, you will be following your guide on animal-worn trails to learn and discover the more intricate and interesting signs of the wild.
Tracks, spoor, plant and trees, their medicinal properties as well as possible encounters with large mammals and the extensive birdilfe, will guarantee participants an adventure of a lifetime.
Photographic Safari:
Expert guides will be at your disposal to take you on daytime photographic safaris or night excursions to observe animals while feeding, drinking or hunting.
Zambezi sunrises provide an ideal photographic setting. Enjoy Italian style coffee while witnessing the breathtaking beauty of soft sunlight play over the glassy Zambezi river. The cool fresh air and rising mist enhance the early morning sounds of nature.
Angling:
Anglers may enjoy wonderful opportunities as in this area the Zambezi widens and creates pools of still water, natural habitat for tiger fish, bream, vundu, knupi and plenty of other species of tropical fish.
Specialist Tiger Fishing guides, Sun shades, cushioned seating, equipment tried and tested and expert guides make fishing with Kanyemba lodge exciting, successful and comfortable.
