Description Facilities Jongomero Camp offers a quintessential African wilderness experience in the remote African bush of Ruaha National Park. This large conservation area of 10,300 square kilometres in the south-west of Tanzania is one of the least visited but most spectacular parks in Africa. The only camp situated in this area, Jongomero Camp ensures unmatched privacy. Eight spacious safari tents are set under shady acacia trees on the banks of the seasonal Jongomero River. Tents are raised on wooden platforms under enormous thatched roofs with a private veranda overlooking the river bed. The tented rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with twin hand basins and a spacious shower as well as large, comfortable beds. The unique dining and living areas are comfortable and offer a great vantage point from which to take in the diverse sights and sounds of the African bush. There is a natural rock pool for cooling off on hot days. Colours reflect the African landscape with cool, neutral tones, and the main guest areas are housed under a soaring thatch-roof, with the bar and dining areas shaded by large riverine trees. Enjoy superlative morning and late afternoon game drives from the camp to view the distinctive animals and excellent birdlife.
