Description

This self-catering house offers five beautifully decorated double bedrooms with fine linen and comfortable beds. An entertainment area with built-in braai and a Karoo-style swimming pool will make for a comfortable stay.

The accommodation takes the shape of a fully contained farmhouse. The house contains a farm-style kitchen equipped with stove and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery and utensils. Two modern bathrooms are available to guests. Cushions and duvets are allergy free, with electric blankets for those chilly winter nights. Fresh linen and towels provided. Meals, a special Karoo lamb braai pack, fresh farm bread and fresh farm produce are available on request.

Activities available are mountain biking, hiking trails, river fishing, quad biking, a 4x4 trail, bird watching, stargazing and many more. This region is also home to a very scarce and endangered animal, the Riverine Rabbit.

Gemeet aan gastehuis standaarde, voldoen Jakkalsdans aan alle verwagtinge: beddegoed, matras, meubels, badkamer, noem maar op. Alles uitstekende kwaliteit, skoon en goed versorg. En dan die bonus: Karoo magic op sy beste. Stilte, wye oop ruimtes, in die verte 'n skaap wat blêr, bloekombome op die werf, 'n silwerskoon plaasdam, windpomp, sterrenagte. Onverbeterlik. We had the most wonderful stay. Seeing the stars was the most amazing experience. Our stay in a real farm house in the middle of nowhere was a treat. We watched spring hares and dassies and listened to the jackels. We even had fish in the river in the middle of all this dryness. The most wonderfully hot bread delivered with the biggest smile from Lien. Jakkelsdans is a very special place we did not want to leave. Thank you.

An ideal breakaway from the city, would return with my grandchildren next time. Perfect setting for someone who loves nature, stars and tranquility. The house is big, well equipped and ideal for a big family or several friends who want to share some time.
