Description

The JAK Strydom Private Nature Reserve is situated 10 km downstream from Aliwal North, on the banks of the Orange River. This exclusive malaria-free private game reserve offers 1,000 hectares of indigenous beauty, just 15 minutes away from the Riverside Lodge.

Our self-catering lodge can accommodate up to 20 people. Enjoy picnicking at one of the tranquil riverside picnic spots with a lapa and barbecue facilities or take a game drive and view 21 species, including rare wildlife such as buffalo, rhino, giraffe, bontebok, tsessebe, njala, gemsbok, waterbuck, eland, zebra, and kudu.

The reserve also offers an abundance of birdlife. Take a scenic walk to the ancient rock art or enjoy fishing for the elusive yellow fish, then end your day with a relaxing soak in the nearby hot water sulphur spring at 34 degrees.
